VIVO Healthcare and NTBCL prepare Noida Police Personnel to be First Responders

Training Venue: Police Line (Surajpur), Time: 10 am, Date: 08.03.2015

The DND Flyway in coordination with NOIDA Police has started a new road safety initiative which involves training police personnel in NOIDA to be first responders at the scene of a medical emergency. As a part of NTBCL (DND Flyway) Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) project, ‘Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan’ or ‘Road Safety Campaign’ aims at creating awareness among the community. Road accident counts 1 life every 4 minutes and if more people know how to respond in such cases, a lot of these lives can be saved. School kids and police personnel, as in most of the cases, are the first to reach accident site will help them save more lives. Knowing what to do, how to do and what not to do will but some extra time for the accident victim till expert professional medical help arrives to the victim is taken to hospital.

The training will be conducted through VIVO Healthcare, a leading healthcare training and education company offering health & safety and life support programs for corporates, schools and healthcare providers. VIVO’s internationally certified trainers will extensively train police personnel in major emergencies covering topics such as soft tissue injuries, cuts and wounds, impaled objects, fractures and dislocations, splinting and bandaging, choking, cardiac arrest, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), fainting, stroke, diabetic emergencies, asthma, seizures, heat emergencies, burns, dog bites, snake bites, severe allergic reactions, and spinal immobilization

“Many medical emergencies cannot be avoided, but certainly most of them can be tackled effectively if a trained first responder is available at the scene. A person equipped with first aid skills can make the difference between life and death by, for example, administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for a person who has just suffered a cardiac arrest. By learning first aid, the Noida police, especially personnel in PCR vehicles as well as quick response teams will be able to react in a better way to save lives.”Anwar Abbasi, Spokesperson DND Flyway

“The training will be conducted for hundreds of police personnel across different venues in Gautam Buddh Nagar district in a 6 hours comprehensive training. The first batch will be trained on 8th of March in police lines at Surajpur. The Noida police have given its full cooperation for this.” said Vikas Kohli, VIVO Healthcare
